After School Classes

Our after-school programs offer a variety of creative classes plus plenty of time for enriching social time and play.

Art Play Date
1.5 - 6 YEARS | W/ GUARDIAN
Join us in the studio for collaborative open-ended art-making! Each week, we'll have different art materials to explore on a large-scale: imagine painting large cardboard sculptures or constructing huge paper sculptures or drip painting on one large surface! What do all these activities have in common? Your artist will be making art on one BIG surface with other artists. Please note this class is open-ended and does not include a formal class structure. Our teachers will be on-site to help guide your artist but this is an opportunity for you and your child to explore art-making together and with peers.
Clay Hand-Building
K-5 | DROP-OFF
This class is an opportunity for elementary school artists to work with Scribble's favorite sculptural medium: CLAY! We'll explore various hand-building techniques using traditional clay tools and their most important sculpting tools: their hands! Artists will make both functional and aesthetic ceramic pieces and once they're fired, experiment with bright and colorful glazes. Perfect for artists who love to build, sculpt and construct!
Clay Hand-Building for Adults
Come and learn the basics of working with clay or add to your existing hand-building knowledge! This beginners to intermediate class teaches students hand-building techniques including pinch, slab and coil methods of construction, for creating both functional ceramics and fine art sculptures.
Clay Play
3 - 4 YEARS | W/ GUARDIAN
This class is an opportunity for our youngest artists to get their hands on and in some clay! They'll explore various hand-building techniques both using traditional clay tools and their most important sculpting tools: their hands! Artists will make both functional and aesthetic ceramic pieces and once they're fired, experiment with bright and colorful glazes. Perfect for ALL artists of this age but especially for ones who love to build, stack, and dig right into materials.
Drop & Dine Nights
K-5 | 2 HOURS | DROP-OFF
Want to enjoy a great night out (sans children) knowing that your little artist is well cared for and having a great time making art?!? Who wouldn't, right? Projects vary from sculpture to painting to printmaking to collage but always offer the same dose of creativity and fun.
Mini Scribblers
1.5 - 3 YEARS | 45 MINUTES | W/ GUARDIAN
This class is a great opportunity for guardians to guide their toddlers through the exploration of materials perfectly suited to their innate interests. Every material and project is carefully selected to complement the unique characteristics that define "toddlerhood".
Mini Scribblers is designed to develop socialization, fine & gross motor skill development, understanding of cause & effect, language acquisition and an emerging awareness of themselves as artists!
Open Ceramic Studio
FOR AGES 3+
Join us in the studio for glazing a pre-made ceramic piece. We have tons of pieces to choose from including both functional ceramics and small sculptures perfect for the artist looking for something decorative to give as a gift or display for themselves. A great way to spend the morning or afternoon with family or friends, you can stay as long as you'd like during open studio time
Paper Sculpture for Adults
In this class, Garry Grant, Harlem-based sculptor, will guide students through the versatility and creative potential of paper as a medium for sculpting. You'll learn to utilize techniques including folding, cutting, and layering to transform simple sheets of paper into intricate and expressive three-dimensional forms. Whether you're new to sculpture or looking to expand your artistic skills, this class will inspire you to see paper in a whole new light.
Preschool Art School
3 - 4 YEARS | 90 MINUTES | DROP-OFF
Drop off your preschooler for 90 minutes of art exploration! We'll spend the beginning of our lesson exploring sensory materials that encourage sorting, collecting, socialization, experimentation with cause and effect and of course, self-directed PLAY! After sensory open play, we’ll have a quick snack and water break. Then we’ll dive into art-making, creating multi-layered paintings, sculptures, prints and collages over a series of classes. Please send a snack and a water bottle. We are nut-free!
Pre-Scribblers
3 - 4 YEARS | 60 MINUTES | DROP-OFF
Artists explore collage, painting, drawing, sculpture, and printmaking, oh my! Each project is multi-layered and completed over a series of several classes ending with an art show where artists present their finished piece and explain their artistic decisions to the class.
Saturday Workshops
K-5 | 90 MINUTES | DROP-OFF
Join us for a monthly Saturday Art Workshop! These workshops are the perfect balance of process and product focused art-making. We explore artistic methods with the best of materials and the result is a beautiful (and often functional) work of art that's usually geared towards an upcoming holiday or season.

Looking for a full day workshop for days when school is out? We've got you covered. We'll fill the day with outside play and of course, a ton of art-making!
Sensory Open Play
1.5 - 4 YEARS | W/ GUARDIAN
Toddlers LOVE to touch and explore new materials. So, why not allow them to freely pour, squish, collect and sort in the messy world of the scribble studio with other artists their age? Open play is not teacher-led but we do have a Scribble teacher present to help engage your little one in the fun. Open play is great for developing socialization, fine & gross motor skills, language acquisition, an awareness of physical properties of objects and of course, just having some plain ol' early childhood fun!
Tween Art Class
In our classes for tweens and teens, they'll delve deep into artistic materials and methods by completing multi-week layered projects exploring techniques like printmaking, drawing and painting.
Private Lessons (2-4yo)

Teaching art is a privilege at any age, but being part of our youngest artists’ very first art experiences is especially unique. Our 45-minute early childhood private lessons are an opportunity for our teachers to more closely observe the way your artist approaches materials and the developmental leaps they make as they progress through our projects.

Our 1-hour one-on-one lessons are a great opportunity for them to develop a more comprehensive art practice including setting up their workspace, finding inspirational artists that align with their innate artistic style and working through all the challenges and possibilities of each material or method we explore together.

Our 1-hour one-on-one lessons are a great opportunity for your teen or YOU to develop a more comprehensive art practice including setting up your workspace, finding inspirational artists that align with your innate artistic style and working through all the challenges and possibilities of each material or method we explore together.

Gather your pre-schooler’s favorite friends or family and let’s make some art together! This 45-minute class explores our signature curriculum including story-time, a collaborative art game and independent art-making that all focus on building our visual language and of course, exploring traditional and experimental painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and collage materials!

This is the classic pod: an opportunity to take an art class with your friends, family members or school mates either online or in person! This 1-hour class features our multi-layered complex projects that explore various art materials and methods (both conventional and experimental). We’ll work through all the possibilities of each layer of materials together; sharing our artistic choices and revelling in the result!
