Teacher Spotlight: Katie Rindler

Learn a bit more about Katie Rindler, one of our wonderful Scribble teachers!

What inspires you?

I am finding inspiration in being outside, noticing all the different vegetation in the area.  In Summer Camp we recently gathered all the interesting things we could find outside on the aqueduct trail and collaborated on making art with what we found.  Everyone agreed that the finished product looked like a dinosaur.

What type of art are you currently working on?

Over the last year I have been learning digital illustration on Adobe Photoshop.

What does your perfect day off consist of?

Anything involving spending time outdoors and with animals.

What's your favorite Scribble project?

One of my favorite scribble projects is the bobblehead creatures.   It’s always fun to see an artist's imagination unfold through the process of sculpting, designing accessories and details that are unique to their vision.

What's something you hope every student takes away from their art classes with you?

There is no right or wrong way of doing art.  The most important thing is to experiment and be open to all possibilities.
