We believe the most talented teachers are those who never stop learning how to teach. This is why our team of instructional leaders at Scribble Art Workshop developed a robust training program designed to support teaching artists—no matter what step of the teaching journey they are in.

Read on to see how our training sessions and resources could benefit the art teachers in YOUR school.

At Scribble Art Workshop, we partner with schools all throughout New York City and Westchester.  Because of this, we get the chance to speak to A LOT of teachers who are looking to strengthen their art programming. Figuring out solutions to their questions is kind of our thing.

Here are some of the reasons teachers come to us:

  • They’re feeling stuck. We provide tips and tools for approaching your core art materials in new ways, in addition to suggestions and tips for incorporating new materials.

  • They’re feeling isolated. Our training sessions provide a great opportunity for your teachers to connect with other art educators in their school network. It allows them to catch up with their peers as they engage in insightful discussion.

  • They’re looking for experiential training sessions. Our sessions can include art-making for all participants!

We cover a range of topics for school age students such as

  • Extending Engagement

  • Differentiation

  • Art Assessment

  • Questioning & Divergent Thinking

  • Artistic Development

Topics for those who teach early childhood include:

  • Visual Literacy

  • Divergent Thinking

  • “The Art Show”

In addition to in-person training sessions, we can share our developmentally-based curriculum, lesson planning templates, reference videos, rubrics for assessment and more.

Most importantly, we’re flexible. We can adapt your professional development to best fit the current needs of your teachers and students.
